Lock In Of Sorts

Remus had been there for hours, but for all that time he was pacing back and forth even though his whole body ached from head to foot.

He finally collasped down on the sofa infront of the fire. He put his head back before kicking the coffee table in anger and frustration, knowing what he had coursed and done.

Late in the dead of the night Pandora arrived to check on Remus. She was worried and almost unconsoleable in her worries. She had to make sure remus had made it there safely.

She disguised herself as she now walked up to the door of Grimmauld...speaking the pw and entering quickly.

Once she had made her way down the hall way and safe of Sirius's mothers screams she called out.

"Remus you here", she said almost softly, not wanting to wake the hag in the portrait?

Remus opened his eyes feeling groggy, He looked around the living room and at the broken coffee table. He then pushed himself to his feet, knocking a couple of beer bottles over.

He made his way to the door of the living room and looked out into the hallway "I am in the living rooom..." he said glancing other to her as he leant against the door frame.

She walked through and pass him carry a bag and changing he rlooks back. I took percations to not bee seen nor followed. I brought you some clothes and food and plenty of drink. I'll take care of this you wont be here long...If I have to leave my post...you'll be safe", she said sitting the bag on the tablle and taking a bottle of wine out opening it with her wand, chugging it.

".. you don't need to doo all this for mee....you are a dear friend of mee.. boot yoou don't'haf to doo all this for mee.." he swayed as she passed him ".. I don't want yoou to loose your job... it means soo much too yoou..."

He closed the door behind them and then sat back down, falling into the couch before taking his unfinished whiskey. Remus patted the empty seat next to him, for her to sit down.

"You mean more to me than my lifes work or my job", she said following him and falling into the sofa next to him. Your lifes worth a million jobs...besides I don't need the money..I do it because I want to."

She then swigged the red wine straight from the bottle. Finishing almost half of it now. She layed her head back and sighed.

Her head was pleasantly light now.

Remus put his hand on hers. ".. and the same to you, yoou have always been there for mee..." he leaned across and kissed her "...I would doo anything for yoou.." he put his bottle down before putting his arm around her.

"And I for you old friend. You know how stubborn I can be...not losing without a huge fight...and i do not intend on losing. I'll leave with you if it comes to that. But I do have a ace in my pocket...That Auror has feeling for me..I'm sure of it. I'll persuade him in the end", she said laying her head on his shoulder.

She closed her eys as her head swam pleasntly..it felt good to relax..atleast till her fight in the morning.

"...What do you mean... has feeling for you...do yoou like him the same?" he asked biting on his bottom lip

His arm slowly came away from her, even though he was drunk, he didn't want to upset her, but he had always admired her since school and ever since, but knew she was too good for him

"Theres something I should tell you. We had a date..ahh several days ago. But he turns on us..of course not. But i did have feelings..yes. But .not if he puts his job before me and my friends. I'm not so sure now."

She then swigged the wine...feeling his diappointment and wanting to be as numb as possible.

"Nothing is certain now", she said with a sigh.

He leaned over and took the bottle from her grasp "...I know it helps... but it won't help in the morning... won't chance anything..." he put the bottle down and sat back deep in thought, his eyes watering ".. he wanted me dead..I hate that man..." he mumbled

"I'm a grown woman...I can drink myself into a plaesant como. "I'm not sure..he just said the ministry would"..she paused..not bearing to say the words. "Well destroyed werewolves.

"I'll know more tomo morning. You already made your mind up, but he is new..he doesn't know us and our lives and sacrifices, but he will.. Don't be so quick to judge as he did."

"Have faith in me...to do the right thing."

"He wanted to ruin my life.. just because his job! he wanted me dead! You said he is in the Order... if he is new and thinks this of me as he did.. as a danger... making me live here, trapped like a animal... " Remus pushed himself up and limped over to the window "...I meant what I said as I left Hogwarts..." he said looking out the window as the snow fell.

"Sadly he doesn't know you yet as the kind and giving human you are. He only saw the werewolf. I'll change his mind, explain it to him better."

"I don't blame you for being upset and frankly I am too. I debated about killing him and haven't even ruled it out", she said with a grimace.

"Either he comes around or he dies...simple as that", she said taking the wine back and drinking from the bottle again.

Remus sighed as she didn't mention about how he told her he loved her, before he left Hogwarts. He closed his eyes and tears trickled down his cheeks, He nodded weakly not knowing what to say, finding himself to choked up

She wasn't stupid...but she had misunderstood his feelings. "I can't deal with all these emotions that i'm feeling. I can't. And yet I need to. I love you too Remus...more than anyone. But I let go of us...thought there was no way. Didn't think you wanted that.

She swigged the wine till it was gone, praying for unconsciousness.

"Well I thought you were too good for me.. you didn't feel the same, not sure how anyone would like me... but when you offered to give everything up to save someone like me... I thought it meant some deep.... it was meaningful as I have said.. but I thought it was more.. a sign.. I was silly.." he said still looking out the window.

"I..I do love you. You are my best friend. The closet thing to family I have. I would give it all up to save your life." She looked away...her eyes getting moist...was this all her fault. Had she done something to mislead him?

Damn the afairs of the heart. In all honesty at one time she was madly in love with him. But now she just wanted them to be friends...the best of freinds..through thick and thin.

"I think it best you go back to the castle.." he said finally breaking out of his silence ".. before you fall asleep.. the school needs you there." Remus felt like he had been a fool, he had lost his freedoms and now he felt more a lone than ever.

He turned and walked around the back of the couch to leave the room, wanting to be alone feeling ashamed with himself while at the same time heartbroken.

She frowned and got up stumbling to the door. Once outside the cold night air sobered just enough to disapparate to her home. With a heavy heart and loads of stress, she left Remus at grimmauld.
